Guide Services
When visiting Revelstoke, make sure you ride with a qualified snowmobile mountain guide. Our guided tours always include guides, but for those staying at Glacier House Resort and bringing their own machines or renting our machines, qualified mountain guides are available for the day. Guides are great if you are new to the area, or want to maximize your snowmobile holiday. Especially when weather conditions are bad a guide will assist you greatly in finding rideable and safe terrain. Our guides are excellent and are able to get you the riding you want. For your safety they carry radios and are trained in first aid and avalanche safety. These are good reasons to ride with a legitimate Great Canadian guide and not 'a friend of a friend, who claims to know the mountains'. Group size is limited to 8 riders maximum. All riders will have to sign a waiver and must comply with our guides’ instructions during the day. The charges for a guide for the day is $ 350 plus $15 per rider (rates subject to 5% SC & 5% GST). This includes our government land levy. Reservations are required. Riders need to purchase their own trail pass at the trail heads.
Private guides on our Tours
Great Canadian Snomowbile Tours reserves the right to put different guests of equal abilities together in one guided our. This is the reason we have labled our tours A, B and C, depending on experience level. Our groups are often international and a lot of fun. If you wish however to be guaranteed your own private guide for your group, without other riders, you can hire a private guide for an add-on fee. The advantages of a private guide for your party alone are great. You can ride at your pace and choose terrain that fits your skills and interests the most. You are also able to ride different mountains than in our standard tours, which is a great advantage for returning guests. For existing tours, the additional group charge for a private guide is $ 295 per day for the group (plus 5% service charge & 5% GST). On request we can accommodate groups of experienced riders for specific departures or riding areas. You must request these specifically and a charge for private guides will be levied. Expert rider tours or certain snow conditions may take guests into more aggressive riding terrain or avalanche prone terrain and may require guests to wear and use avalanche safety gear. These tours/departures are not suitable for inexperienced or novice riders.
Tag alongs
Riders with their own machine who want to tag along on an existing tours will be allowed only if riding levels are similar and the group size does not exceed 5 (one guide) or 10 (2 guides) riders. Tag along fee is $ 85 per day plus your own trail pass and gov. levy of $ 6 per day. No advance bookings are accepted; but check with our office prior and if we have a potential suitable group, you report to the snowmobile shop at 8.30 am on the day of departure.
